About callie

Art and design have always been integral parts of my identity, serving as constant sources of inspiration. I have immersed myself in design by developing a broad set of strong skills in many creative areas, reflecting my passion for the creative process. Particularly, I have honed my fine arts skills through painting, sketching, and mixed media pieces, I have designed and constructed furniture pieces, and I have explored fashion design through teaching myself advanced sewing and knitting skills. These creative skills synchronically enrich each other and equip me to approach design through a unique, interdisciplinary lens, connecting together my diverse skill set and allowing me to weave narratives through spaces.

This past fall, I began the three-year Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design graduate program at the New York School of Interior Design. I have developed strong technical skills and explored my creativity through a vast variety of diverse projects, advancing my previous skills and knowledge of design.

I previously studied Psychology and Urban Studies, which led me to develop an understanding of the intricate relationships between psychological wellbeing and urban environments, and a unique, global perspective on design. Although this may seem like an unconventional path to design, it has been instrumental in providing me with a unique perspective on the symbiotic relationship between people and their surroundings.

In my current graduate degree, I tap into my educational background in psychology and urban studies, alongside my diverse artistic skillset, to design unique, dynamic and evocative spaces which intertwine art, emotion, and function, and which deeply connect with the people who engage with them.
