This one-bedroom apartment in SoHo is designed to feel layered, whimsical, and bold, designed for an art-focused couple. The den features a painting easel and art supply storage, alongside a bed and bowl set for the client’s dog.

The eclectic nature of the space is deeply layered, symbolizing the clients’s dynamic and multifaceted lifestyles. This is achieved through the interplay of contrasting materials and textures, as well as a diverse palette of bold colors and furniture, ensuring the space feels striking without becoming overwhelming. The use of glass further enhances this layered effect, acting as a semi-transparent element that allows glimpses of the pieces behind it.

The bold, layered aesthetic contributes to the whimsical feel, achieved through the color palette, with accents of pink, light blue, and green, bringing a sense of lightness to the otherwise rich and eclectic design. The colors are a modern, whimsical take on a natural color scheme of green and blue, which is commonly found in nature, reinterpreted in abstract ways with heightened chromatic values.

The space is designed to feel timeless, blending modern and traditional elements. A mix of contemporary pieces with aged, classic materials reflects their appreciation for art, travel, and history, creating a home that is both personal and enduring.
